As we venture into 2026, we (Vedant & friends) wanted to share a list of our favorite songs from the previous year with you all. 2025 was a great year for hip-hop/rap especially: Playboi Carti dropped an album for the first time since Whole Lotta Red, and "underground" artists like OsamaSon and Xaviersobased became one step closer to the mainstream. In Britain, Fakemink rose to notoriety so quickly (accompanied by a plethora of co-signs) that his name was pelted with "industry plant" allegations. While our writers don't exclusively listen to hip-hop, this list will contain a lot of it, as that is what our main audience primarily listens to. I hope you enjoy listening to these 25 songs (presented in no particular order) as much as my friends and I did this past year.
