Boris: Atsuo, Takeshi, and Wata

Making a stop in Denver for their 20th Anniversary "Do You Remember Pink Days?" Tour, Japanese rock trio Boris did not disappoint at the Gothic Theatre. The entirety of the almost two thousand person venue was electrified by the riffs of guitarists Wata and Takeshi. While I normally go to a lot of hip-hop concerts and see moshpits there, the pit in this venue was alive and well, to say the least.

The drummer, Atsuo was also riling up the crowd pretty heavily. The best photos of the night came when he stood up to slam the Zildjian gong multiple times during a couple songs. Through all the blue and pink frog plushies (an altered version of Kermit the Frog that has become the band's mascot of sorts) and the massive crowd, this concert was extremely fun, even for someone who doesn't know any Japanese. The bottom line is, you don't have to know Japanese to enjoy the audio created by Atsuo, Wata, and Takeshi! At the end of the day, it's good old Rock-N-Roll.
